What's in it?
Our Premium Turf Fertilizer blend combines 3 different Nitrogen that release their nutrients at overlapping intervals, ensuring your lawn is adequately fed for up to 10 weeks. Combining these 3 types of Nitrogen with Iron and Potash, will cause grass to turn dark green and grow at a consistent rate.
Ammonium Sulfate
Ammonium Sulfate is a water soluble form of nitrogen and is quickly taken up by the grass plant. It starts working within 1 week after application and lasts between 4 and 6 weeks. Lawns treated with Ammonium Sulfate will turn a deep green color and individual grass blades will thicken and soften.
XCU (Sulfur Coated/ Polymer Coated Urea)
XCU or Polymer Coated Sulfur Coated Urea is a controlled release form of Nitrogen that releases nutrients over the course of 6-8 weeks. Each prill of XCU is coated with a polymer wax that is coated in sulfur. Soil moisture penetrates each prill, dissolving the nitrogen inside of the prill. As pressure builds inside the prill, nitrogen is slowly released through the coating. The polymer and sulfur eventually degrade in the soil to naturally occurring elements.
Duration CR 90 (Polymer Coated Urea)
Duration CR 90 is a polymer coated is a slow release form of Nitrogen that release nutrients over the course of 10 to 12 weeks. Each prill of Duration CR 90 is coated in a polymer wax. Unlike XCU, Duration CR 90 release nutrients based on temperature. As temperature rises and falls over the course of a day, the polymer shell expands and contracts. While expanding, small pores in the shell open up and attract water from the soil into the center of the shell. Water mixes with nitrogen inside, and as the day cools down, the shell contracts and the water/ nitrogen mixture seeps out into the soil. Each day, lawns receive a small dose of nitrogen from Duration CR 90 until the nitrogen is fully released.
Iron
Iron is a naturally occurring element that turns grass a dark green color when applied in the correct amounts. When turfgrass absorbs iron, it produces more chlorophyll, causing the grass to turn a dark green color. Iron combined with Ammonium Sulfate, will turn even the ugliest lawn, a deep green color.
Potash
Potash (potassium) is applied to turf for disease resistance, drought tolerance, warm/ cold weather tolerance and to help thicken the cell walls of the plant.
